Bev and I had quick whizz around John Lewis‘ haberdashery’s after work and then we hot stepped to Grovenser Street to meet the East London Burda Style sewing club.
The sewing club has met every month since 2008 and Bev has been an online member for a while. This was her first meeting and I decided to tag along.
Our host for the meeting was Leah and her warm welcome set the tone for my evening.
Waiting for the rest of the sewing group to arrive Bev, Leah and I talked a bit about our sewing experiences. I spoke about my dress, Bev and Leah spoke about making wedding dresses for friends, pattern cutting, the merits of making a muslin, (especially when using expensive material) and making a basic block.
As you can imagine I was lapping all this up and filing it away for my sewing projects.
Annie, Rosie and Amy arrived and we all chatted like old friends about almost everything under the sun. As we talked we sewed, crocheted , laughed, drank wine and ate nibbles.
I had loads of fun. I can see why groups like this exist, it’s very invigorating meeting up with people who share your passion.

That does sound like lots of fun, lucky you!
