The Bob Dylan connection

Yesterday I had lunch with Luke in Crouch End.

I’m on stay-cation for a week and Luke has been on sick leave for almost a month. (Luke’s had a blood clot and rib removed. I know!! Grisly. Right?).

The joys of not working :-)

My days this week are easy-going, no alarm clock, no deadlines, basically a chilled existence.

I woke up as usual around 5.30 a.m watched a film on my laptop (in bed) and then went back to sleep till 10.30.

So, no breakfast, 1 p.m and I arrive at Crouch End ravenous.

Luckily, Luke introduced me to Banners.

What can I say? Best. Lunch Ever!!

Everything on the menu looked tantalizing but Banners had me at gingerbread pancakes :-) I then put plantain into the mix. Scrumptious .

Let me tell you Banners was worth the hour & 15 minutes journey from Kilburn!!

Luke had kippers and poached eggs with brown toast.

We both had the delicious Glastonbury Mud Pie for dessert.

We caught up with gossip, discussed how overhyped films could be disappointing if viewed too late (for me  - Brokeback Mountain, for Luke – the Artist).

We had a really good time.

I’m definitely going to visit Banners again!!

Oh, and the Bob Dylan connection…

We sat at the same table :-)

Toodles for now

xoxo

  1. Steve my boyfriend is a big Bob Dylan fan and he loves pancakes, he says we have to go there now! Apparently Bob Dylan liked the area so much he thought about moving there! I love your blog !!
